Each apprenticeship is individually tailored to suit each young person that gets on to the programme. Based on their chosen field of work and previous experience, each apprentice will work towards their desired goals at a pace and in a direction to suit.

Stage one - Recruitment Process
To make sure that each applicant is suitable; that they fit the criteria and that they are ready to commit to 3 years of training and work. Each applicant undergoes:

  • Needs Assessment
  • Financial Assessment
  • Group Interview
  • Interview with the Governors

Stage two – Pre-Apprenticeship Programme
Work towards developing the necessary skills to help each candidate get trained and be job ready. Candidates will be taken away on a 2 day residential to Hindleap Warren. They will then undertake an intensive 20 week programme of personal learning and development. The programme focuses on developing a number of skills e.g. IT, communication, interview techniques, CV writing, time keeping, goal setting, team work, problem solving, overcoming obstacles, stress management, task management, confidence building, money management etc.


Stage three – Apprenticeship
Each apprenticeship runs for 3 years and combines employment and training alongside an ongoing personal development programme. Each apprentice will be individually supervised and supported. They will be expected to keep track of their progress by completing a personalised workbook and journal throughout the course of their apprenticeship. Whilst on the programme, the apprentice’s salary will be paid directly via the Lambeth Endowed Charities. Any additional expenses e.g. for equipment, mentoring, training will also be covered.
