TYLAP is split into three years.

YEAR 1 – Trainee Youth Leader
Work with a local youth centre/provider as a Voluntary Trainee Youth Leader
Study on the Introductory Studies in Youth and Community Work
Attend any additional training or work related events

YEAR 2 – Apprentice Youth Worker
Be employed by Knights Youth Centre for 24 hours per week as an Apprentice Youth Worker.
Study Foundation Diploma in Youth work, Informal Education and Community learning.
Assist in delivering the Introductory Studies in Youth and Community Work for the Trainee Youth Leaders

YEAR 3 – Student Youth Worker
Be employed by KYC as a Student Youth Worker for 12 hours per week
Mentor and supervise Trainee Youth Leaders
Study a diploma or degree in youth and community work.
